The Indian Big 8

Africa may be the world’s most popular wildlife destination, with people flocking to catch a glimpse of the big 5, but for those willing to explore, India offers up its own “Big 8”. This impressive list of species includes the Asian elephant, the Asiatic lion, the Indian leopard, the Asian one-horned rhino, the Asian water buffalo, the Guar or Indian bison, the sloth bear and of course, the magnificent Bengal tiger. With its rich and diverse flora and fauna, India is an unforgettable wildlife destination and offers many opportunities to explore these incredible creatures in their natural habitats. Unlike Africa, the Indian “Big 8” can’t be seen in one national wildlife reserve, the “Big 8 Safari” is a journey of a lifetime exploring the jungles and plains of India’s beautiful countryside and the many excellent national parks.
