Coast to Coast

The coast to coast journey in Southern India will take you through two of the most culturally rich states of India. You will travel by road from Tamil Nadu’s capital, Chennai, to Cochin, the capital of Kerala.

Tamil Nadu is a destination for tourists and pilgrims alike with some of the most remarkable temple architecture in the country: holy sites like Kanchipuram, Chidambaram, Kumbakonam, Trichy (Tiruchirappalli), Thanjavur (Tanjore), Madurai, Kanyakumari and Rameswaram, to name a few. In addition to its rich culture, Tamil Nadu is renowned for its temple towns and heritage sites, waterfalls, wildlife reserves, spicy cuisine, excellent coffee, hill stations and scenic beauty.

Kerala is renowned for its breathtaking backwaters and golden beaches. The tranquil backwaters are made up by a maze of rivers, lakes and canals that flow through rice paddies, coconut groves and rustic villages and are best experienced from the deck of your own personal houseboat. Boasting a warm tropical climate and a wealth of medicinal plants, Kerala is well known for its practice of ayurveda, an ancient holistic wellness treatment and there are many wellness centres in the region to help weary travellers rejuvenate their mind, body and souls.

Highlights

Using your hands to eat a traditional Tamil lunch served in banana leaf | Relaxing on a houseboat in the beautiful backwaters | Rejuvenating with an Ayurvedic treatment | A walking tour of the mish mashed streets of Cochin | Trekking in Periyar wildlife reserve with a local guide.
